Two Suspects Arrested After Bragging About Armored Car Robbery; San Antonio, TX
March 20, 2024
Two armed suspects ambushed an armored car guard who was in the process of servicing a Wells Fargo bank’s drive-through ATM. The suspects held the guard at gunpoint and fled the scene with several boxes of currency. Investigators soon identified the suspects, one of whom was bragging about going to a casino to spend his newly-acquired cash.

An armored car guard was approached by one of two suspects while entering the Queens Center Mall. The suspect forcibly stole a bag containing $700 in coins; however, the guard was able to regain the bag in a struggle and the assailant fled on the back of a scooter operated by an accomplice, fleeing the scene empty-handed.

The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested after seeking treatment for his non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at an area hospital.

Orlando Man Charged in Armored Car Robbery; West Melbourne, FL
January 8, 2024
A 22-year-old Orlando man robbed an armored truck driver with a box cutter on January 8th. The suspect, along with an accomplice, ambushed the guard while an ATM was being serviced and stole $14,000. The suspect was identified using facial recognition and license plate tracking technology and was arrested on February 14th.

A suspect armed with a pair of knives attempted to rob an armored car guard who was in the process of servicing an ATM. The guard drew their sidearm and retreated into a nearby deli. The suspect pursued the guard into the deli, which he attempted to rob, before he was shot and killed by responding police officers. Neither the guard nor the deli employees were injured.

Police reported that the suspect escaped with $70,000 in stolen cash. He was later identified and determined to have been serving probation at the time of the attack for a 2016 bank robbery and was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Armed suspects approached an armored car guard, assaulted him and gained access to the armored vehicle, stealing seven plastic bins and ten deposit bags with a combined value of over $1 million. A tracking device concealed with the stolen cash allowed police to rapidly track down the suspects and the suspects were arrested hours later. Two of the suspects are believed to be linked to a prior armored car robbery at an ATM in Lansing.

Three armored cars were robbed at gunpoint within a few hours of one another in the Chicago suburbs. The first robbery occurred outside of Pete’s Fresh Market in Calumet City at approximately 9:30am. The second occurred outside of Gordon Food Service in Lansing at 12:00pm. The third occurred at a currency exchange in Bridgeport at 1:30pm. The robberies are under investigation to determine if and how they are connected.

The FBI announced the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of suspect Darrell Singleton in connection with the Halloween armored robbery of an armored car guard outside of a Lansing, IL bank branch. Singleton and two other suspects stole cash from the ATM and armored vehicle and fled with the guard’s sidearm, causing an accident with injuries during their escape.
